Presidental Wax Museum

Steven has been learning about America and its Presidents at school, and was given a special project to choose a President and give a short speech in character.   The Wednesday before President's day, his Kindergarten class put on a Presidental Wax Museum for the parents and each child did their presentation.

We chose Teddy Roosevelt. I admit it was in part because Charlton and I thought it would be a fun and easy costume to pull together.  Gotta be practical, people. And any excuse to see Steven in a tie and three piece suit is good enough for me-- he looked so adorable and then he put that mustache on.  Just forget about it.  Steven was excited about being Teddy because he liked to play sports and was the first President to ride in a airplane, car, and submarine.  Pretty cool.

These are pictures from the presentation.  I recorded his speech on our video camera so I will have that up as soon as I figure out how to do that.  He doesn't like talking in front of people but he remembered his whole speech and did so well.  We were very proud of him; there were probably 30 people in the audience.

Steven with his best friend, Matthew (George Washington)
The boys (Teddy, George, and Woodrow Wilson)

We were thrilled that Mammaw was able to come see him as Teddy.  She is one of Steven's biggest fans and comes to all his games and school events!
Steven with his special friend, Susanna (Abigail Adams).  She is also a friend from church, so we are blessed to see her almost every day of the week this year.
With their teacher, Mrs. Green, who is also originally a friend from church.
